ABOUT LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST CHURCH

Lighthouse Baptist Church is an independent, Bible believing, Baptist Church. We believe that the actions of this Church should glorify God and the key to this is the preaching and teaching of His Word, the Holy Bible.

We are very missions minded. We believe that the right hand of the Local New Testament Church is missions. We give monthly support to numerous missionaries. We believe that God, in His Word, tells us that we are to support men and women who have chosen to fulfill the Great Commission around the world.

We do not believe we must go the way of modern translations and music to attract people. The Holy Spirit is fully capable of filling a  person as they yield to His work in their lives. We believe that people will experience true worship when they visit Lighthouse Baptist Church.

We believe that every Christian should have a part in leading people to Christ. The spreading of God's Word is the responsibility of each believer. We accomplish this through the handing out of Gospel tracts, verbally sharing our faith and attempting to live the kind of life that mirrors the Bible.

We believe that love must be the motive for all that happens at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Without the desire to show others the love of Christ, we cannot glorify our Heavenly Father.

We hope that this is the kind of church you are looking for. If it is, we hope that you will come and visit with us during our service times or listen to our radio broadcast. Our church family would love to get to know you.

ABOUT OUR PASTOR

Pastor Kenny and Debby

Our pastor is Kenneth Wayne Berry and his wife is Deborah Ann Berry. Brother Kenny was saved at the age of 27 on June 1, 1997. That same year he enrolled at Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri, where he later graduated in May 2001.

In 2002 the Lord called Brother Kenny to start a church. He found a store front that served as the church until the Lord blessed Lighthouse Baptist Church with their new home at 510 NAS Drive in May of 2006. The building was in need of much remodeling but with the Lord's help was up and running in a month.

We truly believe that the Lord has blessed us so that we may be a blessing to others. He has allowed us the opportunity to begin many ministries in our church due to our willingness to glorify Him in all that we do.

Brother Kenny and Debby met in 1997 but did not realize what God had in store for them. After losing touch for a few years, God brought them back in contact with each other in 2004. They were married on December 18, 2005. Brother Kenny and Debby have a love for Jesus Christ and a love for people.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that God exists as three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that in order to have a relationship with the Heavenly Father, one must go through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Salvation is by grace alone and not of works. At the point of salvation, the Holy Spirit indwells the believer and seals that salvation for eternity.

We believe the King James Version Bible to be the inerrant and infallible Word of God. We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16). It is God's instruction manual to humans.

We believe that Jesus Christ, though He was in human form on this earth, still had the attributes of God because He is God.

We believe that Hell was created for Satan and the other fallen demons but expands on a daily basis due to people dying without Christ in their lives.

We believe that one day Jesus will return and defeat Satan and will send him to the Lake of Fire for eternity.

We believe that man was created in the likeness of GOD and due to the entrance of sin into mankind by Adam and Eve was no longer worthy of a relationship with God. Therefore, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as an atonement for sin. Upon a person's belief in Jesus Christ, their sins are forgiven and the relationship is restored between God and that individual.

We believe that baptism is not a part of salvation but is the first act of obedience by a believer. We believe in baptism by immersion.

We believe that there are two ordinances in the Local New Testament Church: the Lord's Supper and Baptism.

We believe the Local New Testament Church is God's avenue for the spreading of His Word and the edification of His people.

We believe that the giving of tithes is taught in the Word of God and is meant for the upkeep of the Local New Testament Church. Giving not only consists of the tithe but also missions giving by faith promise and giving up and above the tithe.

We believe it is the responsibility of every believer to spread the Word of God.

We believe that every believer should attend church services at every given time (Hebrews 10:25).

We believe that every believer should study the Word of God on a daily basis. This should be done so as to develop a closer relationship with God.
